By order of the Dutch Law ( Labour cicumstances Act 1997), repairs in/ on or onto tankervessels carrying-, or empty but previous laden with dangerous cargo and being found within Dutch territorial waters, is prohibited without a Health-& Safety Certificate.Owners representatives /agents /captains or repair companies are obliged to apply first for this "gasfree certificate" with a Marine Chemist prior commencing planned works or repairs.
Special
attention is given to enclosed or confined spaces as well as
to "hot
work" permits or specific potential toxic environments (within
the
cargozone) and additional advises
is offered to maintain the safety. Our expertises as
Certified Marine Chemists, can also be extended to vessels outside Dutch territorial waters
e.g.
in countries where no Certified
Marine Chemists are available nor a "gas-free
certificate" is requierd to dangerous cargo-
vessels, we are able to
provide the necessary certificates (under the Dutch terms) to at
least protect those
involved in dangerous cargo handling
or to make sure that the repairs
to the vessel can be carried out safely. It's
also possible to issue "gas-free certificates" in compliance with
the regulations of Bureaux of
Classifications when, for example, the vessel
is being re-classified.
